Volkswagen Vento has got 4000 bookings in just three weeks. A big share of the credit goes to the talking newspaper by the company. Providing a talking newspaper for Vento, company’s mass car brand was indeed a very novel idea which is proved by this triggering of bookings of the model. The company has successfully created ample buzz for the new car Volkswagen Vento in the market. The Vento talking newspaper contained audio devices in its print ads in two of the leading English newspapers.

According to the auto industry reports, auto major Volkswagen has registered 4,000 bookings for its newly launched Volkswagen Vento. The waiting period of Volkswagen Polo has extended into months and now the huge bookings of Vento will create more pressure on the company. Most probably, the waiting periods are likely to rise. The segment of Volkswagen Vento has got rivals like Hyundai, Maruti, Fiat, Honda and Ford along with some of their fine products. Volkswagen has begun its second shift at the Chakan facility. The company is finding it difficult to meet the rising demand. It has been able to deliver merely 11,000 cars out of the 19,000 orders.

Today, I have visited Surat showroom and seen the Car. I liked it and wanted to Book it but Booking amount is Rs. 75000/- and they will give delivery after eight months. I found it awkward, booking amount is very high and delivery period is too much. Is it worth to book and wait for eight months for delivery?

I took delivery of Vento Trendline Diesel on 15/09/2010 from Bhasin Motors, New Delhi. I booked the car with the reputation of VW without looking at the car. I give lot of credit to news channels reviews. At present I've driven my car to 1200kms and at present I feel that the engine is still tight but still it is giving me an average 15 kms with AC in city driving conditions in Delhi. Driving Vento is giving great pleasure. Suspension is slightly hard. Seats are low but comfortable. It has lot of pulling power. For sudden speeding change of gear is not required. All you need to do is press the accelator. AC is effective. Finishing is excellent. Initial pickup is sluggish but covers lateron. I hope the fuel average and pickup will improve further as and when the engine opens up. In comparison to Ford Fiesta which I was driving earlier suspention is harder and engine noise leve is also higher. Overaii I'm totally satisfied with the performance of Vento.
