The Germans always look forward to revamp their product line-up and sometimes one facelift is not enough to convince the customers that they are having an up to date product. At least that we think is the case with Volkswagen Vento. The automaker is prepping up with the launch of Vento facelift as the advance booking have already started with an upfront payment of Rs 25,000. The launch is scheduled on June 23rd, 2015, exactly nine months ago when Vento facelift was launched in September 24th, 2014. Is it too soon for another update? Let's check out, what to expect from the 2015 Volkswagen Vento.

Exterior

  • On  the exterior front, the 2015 Vento gets new grille, redesigned bumper featurign the same dual-barrel headlamps from the last update.
  • The new three-slat chrome grille looks similar to the one used in company’s other premium sedans-2015 Jetta facelift and the new Passat.
  • The front bumper now flaunts a new chrome line and larger air intakes which adds muscularity and sporty character to the overall design
  • On the side profile, the sedan gets latest set of alloys which is also seen in new Polo. Door handles receives chrome attachments along with the introduction of side blinkers on ORVMs
  • At the rear end, there are subtle changes in the form of new LED look-alike treatment which the company graciously calls it as '3D effect taillamps'. A chrome strip is also provided on the taillamp cluster and at the bottom of refreshed bumper.

Interior

  • The interior is also updated and now features a lighter shade of beige; company is calling it as ‘Walnut desert beige’
  • The car also receives the same dashboard which was introduced in the September update
  • Comfort features like cruise control, cooled glovebox, power ORVMs, and dead pedal for an automatic variant is provided as well
  • But unlike Honda City, there is still no touchscreen infotainment system but still it gets Bluetooth enabled unit from the last update.

Under the Hood

  • The engine specification remains the same but to our much surprise, the fuel economy is improved by 7.5 per cent in diesel models
  • The diesel variant gets 1.5-liter TDI powertrain which is good to give an output of 103.5 bhp @ 4400 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque @ 1500-2500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-Speed MT and 7-speed DSG automatic
  • The petrol model will continue to house the 1.2-litre TSI and 1.6-litre MPI engine. The 1.6-litre MPI gives an output of 103.5bhp with 153Nm of torque while the 1.2-litre turbo gives the same output of 103.5bhp but with increased torque of 175Nm
  • The turbo petrol engine is coupled with the 7-speed DSG automatic while the 1.6 MPI petrol gets 5-speed MT.
