Will new Fiesta get a clean sweep against it rivals?

Ford India has recently launched the brand new Ford Fiesta in India with two variants, one is 1.5 litre of petrol variant and the other one is 1.5 litre of diesel version. India has become the first country to welcome these two brand new Ford engines. The basis of these engines is from the 1.6 litre of diesel and petrol engine of Ford. Currently, both these engines will come with 5 speed manual gearbox. But, it is expected that Ford India might come up with the dual clutch power-shift transmission by the end of 2011.

One of the major competitors of new Ford Fiesta is recently launched Hyundai Verna Fluidic. Another major competitor of new Ford Fiesta is Honda City. Honda City is one of the best selling sedans and is offered in petrol version only. The brand new Honda City was launched in 2008, which comes with 1.5 litre of iVTEC engine. Both automatic and manual transmissions are offered. As one can see that petrol prices are sky rocketing, therefore, with only petrol version of Honda city might see a little downfall and here new Ford Fiesta will come into action and take over the Indian Auto Market.

Even Volkswagen Vento is fighting hard to beat new Ford Fiesta. Volkswagen Vento has been till now the closest player of Honda City. However, one thing is sure that VW Vento is stylish and powerful and it comes with a diesel engine too, which is pretty fuel efficient. But, New Ford Fiesta is loaded with first class features, such as cruise control and voice recognition that lacks in other cars.

What might not work in new Ford Fiesta's favor is the pricing, the car has been priced well above its competitors. Honda City recently slashed its prices vying to rev up sales against its close rival VW Vento. On the other hand Hyundai Verna Fluidic has been a major success in India ever since its launch, right now it is ruling the sedan segment in India. Apart from Honda city, the other two cars , Hyundai Verna Fluidic and VW Vento are present in diesel variants, which gives customers a wide variety to chose from. Honda will soon be launching the diesel version of its popular sedan Honda City.  Now lets see if Fiesta will be able to get a clean sweep against its rivals or not.
