The new spy shots of the 2013 Range Rover have hit the web and they reveal that the prototype of the car has adopted the major styling elements from the Range Rover Evoque. Even though the prototype was minimally disguised, notable changes in the front end were visible which now holds LED illuminated headlights, a three bar grille and a clam shell hood. The dimensions of the car have been tweaked a bit too as the new model appears larger than the previous version which in turn would improve upon the rear legroom and the cargo capacity of the car.
The car has not been rendered changes in terms of engine options and the same petrol and diesel engines will make their way in the car; but a plug-in hybrid variant based on the Range_e concept is on the cards for this car.
Even though the drivetrain has not seen any changes the 2013 Range Rover will be flaunting higher fuel efficiency on account of the aluminum-intensive platform that has been developed by Jaguar and Land Rover together.
Grapevines ripening about this platform state that it would make the new crossover weigh 400kg less than the predecessor. The 2013 Range Rover has been scheduled for its launch in the foreign markets in the latter half of this year, maybe at the Paris Motor Show. To the utter delight of customers, the Indian roads are expected to be gratified with this new car at the same time.
