2014 Ford Fiesta to come with EcoBoost?

Is the new 2014 Ford Fiesta coming with the EcoBoost heart? The company has recently launched the Fiesta in Malaysia and Thailand. The respective Ford's website of both the countries are showing that new Fiesta will boast the 1.0 liter EcoBoost! In India, the 1.0L EcoBoost was debuted with the EcoSport and it surely is hit in the country. Ecoboost with an all-new Fiesta, it would be a perfect deal for petrol heads; the engine is very powerful and frugal despite its small size. The Ford Fiesta 1.0 liter EcoBoost when launched (which is around the corner) will compete against the lone two turbo petrol offering in C-segment Fiat Linea T-Jet, Volkswagen Vento 1.2 TSI and the other two segment leaders Honda City 1.5 liter i-VTEC and Hyundai Verna 1.6 VTVT. Ford India has already created a micro-site of Fiesta last month.

Speaking of the powerplant, the 1.0 liter GTDi (Gasoline-Turbo-Direct-Injection) Ecoboost churns out an impressive 123.28bhp at 6000rpm from a mere 998cc while a blistering torque of 170Nm from just 1400rpm and it keeps you thrilling till 4500rpm. The Linea T-Jet is powered by a 1.4 liter turbo-charged motor which produces 112bhp at 5000rpm while a maximum torque of 207Nm. The Vento, on the other hand is powered by a 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol which gathers 103.6bhp at 5000rpm and the peak torque stands at 175Nm which starts from 1500rpm. Honda and Hyundai sedans churn out 116bhp and 121bhp respectively while the torque figures are 146Nm and 155Nm in the same order. The Fiesta is powerful compared to most of them plus it has the smallest displacement in the lot. It will surely be the pick of the lot, because this time Ford will price it competitively plus with plenty of added features and the eye catchy Aston Martin grille!! Cheers to Ford.
