Lexus has released the first images of its 467 hp GS F performance sedan ahead of its debut at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The GS F will be the latest vehicle to join Lexus’ high-performance “F” line that already includes the RC F coupe. A naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 sits under the hood producing a maximum power of 473 PS at 7,100 rpm and peak torque of 527 Nmat 4,800-5,600 rpm. Mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox, the engine uses both Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles to maximize power and efficiency in given situations.
Lexus has also fitted the GS F with Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD) that is also found in the RC F. Standard equipment includes multi operating modes:
Standard provides a balance of agility and firmness;
Slalom emphasizes nimble steering response and agility; and
Track emphasizes control during high-speed circuit driving.
The GS F unibody will also feature structural reinforcements and suspension exclusively designed to optimize the car’s handling envelope without detracting from its ride quality. The Lexus GS F measures 4915 mm in length, 1845 mm in width and 1440 mm in height along with a wheelbase of 2850 mm and curb weight of 1830 kgs.
The GS F comes as a driver centric car with great handling and smoothness both on the open highway as well as challenging roads and at a racetrack.
