The 54th SIAM Annual Convention concluded in New Delhi with Honourable guest of honour, Mr. Anant Gangaram Geete, Honourable Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India, promises - “Next 5 years to be a golden period for the industry”. As PM Modi has asked manufacturing companies to come to India and 'make in India'. In the same league, he has turned Sanand, Gujarat as the upcoming automobile hub of India. The coming years will certainly see a revolution when it comes to auto industry.
Mr. Vikram Kirloskar, President, SIAM and Vice Chairman, Toyota Kirloskar Motor inaugurated the 54thSIAM Annual Convention. Mr. Vikram appraise unending support of the government helping the industry - “not only survive but thrive and flourish.” He further added that, “the five key areas (fiscal policies, emissions, safety road-map, competition laws, vehicle technologies & fuels, and trade policies) that will have to be addressed to ensure a robust and healthy growth of the automotive industry in future.”
Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport and Highways said at the 54th SIAM Annual Convention in New Delhi. He focused on improving the roads and transportation infrastructure on massive scale. He further focused on alternative fuels – biodiesel and ethanol, improving safety standards and lowering the emissions will be the prime focus of government in near future.
Addressing the August gathering of automobile industry at the 54th SIAM Annual Convention, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India said that exciting times were ahead. He said, “Huge investments to the tune of INR 1,00,000crore had already been cleared by his Ministry for road building, highways, bridges, etc. The New Motor Vehicle Act Draft will be released tomorrow for public comments and the Ministry intends to pass the same in the Winter Session of the Parliament.”
