All-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee US pricing Revealed

CarDekho has been constantly updating you about Fiat's future plans for the Indian car market, which includes the introduction of Jeep brand, Abarth, new Punto and Linea. However, the exact time for the introduction of Jeep is yet to be disclosed, we expect it to make its debut by the end of this year. Meanwhile, the company has announced the US pricing of the all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which is tagged at $22,995 (approximately 13.50 lakh) plus $995 destination charges. However, the Indian bound Cherokee will be priced quite higher, somewhere around Rs. 25-30 lakh.

The vehicle will go on sale in the US by the later this year. The cost of Jeep Cherokee's is hundreds of dollars lesser than the outgoing Jeep Liberty model, while offering more fuel economy, more advanced safety and technology features, even more class-leading 4x4 capability, a modern and progressive new design, and significantly improved everyday on-road ride and handling.

The all-new 2014 Jeep Cherokee provides legendary Jeep 4x4 capability, a segment-first nine-speed automatic transmission, 45 percent more fuel efficient, superior on-road ride and handling, a new aerodynamic design, world-class craftsmanship, class-exclusive technology and more than 70 advanced safety and security features. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee is available in four different trim levels: Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk.

The entry-level Cherokee Sport comes loaded with various features such as projector headlights, plastic body cladding and 17-inch steel wheels. Other features includes air conditioning, remote keyless entry, Uconnect 5.0-inch touchscreen media center with Bluetooth for hands-free phone and streaming audio capability and a media hub that offers USB, SD and auxiliary ports and charging capability and power windows. The vehicle is powered by a 2.4-litre Tigershark four-cylinder engine that produces 184bhp and 231Nm of top torque.

The Jeep Cherokee Latitude variants is priced at $24,495 (approximately Rs. 14.41 lakh), and comes equipped with some additional features like 17-inch aluminum wheels, fog-lights, tinted windows, leather-wrapped steering wheels and many more. The vehicle will have an optional 3.2-litre Pentastar V6 engine that develops 271bhp and 324Nm of top torque. Moving up to the Cherokee Limited, which is priced at $27,995 (approximately 16.4 lakh) and the Cherokee Trailhawk, which is stated as the "ultimate expression of off-road ruggedness and performance." is tagged at $29,495 (approximately Rs. 17.37 lakh).
