We got you the pics of the 2014 Mercedes Benz S Class that was recently caught in lens undergoing testing; we now have received spy pics of the 2014 Mercedes S Class AMG which is supposed to be offered in two different AMG variants. Codenamed as W222, the spotted car is the prototype of one of the two AMG versions of the upcoming Mercedes Benz S-Class. The spotted test model, just like the regular one maintains the exhaust pipes, the model also sported lowered chassis, side skirts, and big brakes, modified front bumper, larger alloy wheels, and covered diffuser on the rear end, low profile tires and prominent inlets for air in the front bumper.
In addition to the aforementioned things, the production model of the car is expected to flaunt re-trimmed lights and flared wheel arches as extra features. Out of the two AMG variants the flagship model will be the S65 AMG which will be housed with the 6.0L bi-turbocharged V12 engine that is capable of pumping out a peak power of 621bhp and a peak torque of 1000Nm.
This engine is borrowed from the models like S 65, SL 65 and G 65 AMG. The other variant is the S63 AMG that derives power from 5.5L twin-turbocharged V8 engine that generates a peak power of 530bhp at 5500rpm and a peak torque of 800Nm at 4500rpm in the standard trim of the car. When added with the performance package, the same engine churns out a peak power of 556bhp and a peak torque of 900Nm.
It is yet to be figured out if the turbocharged variants would be capable of driving same outputs as the present versions of the S63 and S65 AMG models or the Merc engineers would be tweaking something to improve upon the performance and efficiency. Looking at the long stay of the current Mercedes S Class model in the Indian subcontinent, the advent of the 2012 S Class is much anticipated and awaited.
