Toyota Motor Corp, that was struggling with the strike at one of its parts' supplier in China, stated on Thursday that the ephemeral dispute had no impact on its car assembly operations in that market.

The strike at affiliate Toyota Gosei Co's plant in the northeastern city of Tianjin, had ended, said Toyota China's spokesmen Niu Yu. So far, operations of Toyota car assembly plant have not been affected, he added.

The company has also stated that the strike at the plant (Tianjin Star Light Rubber and Plastic Co) started on Tuesday and ended on Wednesday after the company agreed to review the pay structure for its 800 workers. The news came just days after another leading Japanese car-maker Honda had managed to retain normalcy at its lock factory in South China by accepting pay-hike demanded by the workers of this troubled plant.

In the last few months, many auto-labor related disputes have surfaced in the Guangzhou province in Southern- China, which is also known as the 'workshop of the world'. Both Honda and Toyota have their manufacturing base in the Guangzhou province in partnership with Guangzhou Auto Group, a local manufacturing firm. Most of these labor disputes have been taking place after the implementation of new labor law by the Government in the year 2008. The new labor law has stimulated awareness among blue collar workers about their rights.
