Pune, has been treated with a new state-of-the-art Research and Development centre by Faurecia, which is a global leader in supplying automotive components and engineering solutions. The company entered India in 1995 and has headquarters for Interior, Exterior and Seating in Pune and for Emission Control Technologies in Bangalore. Faurecia has covered all the ‘hot’ locations with automotive production base with its 9 facilities in places like Pune, Manesar (Delhi), Bangalore, Chennai and Sanand (Gujarat).

The newly developed TechCentre is going to be providing automotive interiors, exteriors and seating for the competitive passenger market.  Gracing the inaugural occasion with their presence was Honourable Consul General of France in Mumbai, Jean-Raphaël Peytregnet and the owner of the Lila Poonawalla Foundation, Mrs. Lila Poonawalla as the special guest. The company believes that for being successful in long run, it is absolutely crucial to stay close to the customer base and the TechCentre developed can easily accommodate 800 of the country’s brightest auto engineers.

The facility supports Computer Aided Design and Engineering (CAD/CAE) and Product and Process Validation (PPV) activities which will aid in the expansion of the company’s core business. The Faurecia TechCentres in India work on projects like safety, comfort, quality, cost control and interior space management. According to the Executive Vice President of Faurecia Interior Systems, Mr. Christophe SCHMITT, the growth of the company is more accelerated than that of the automotive industry itself; it also enjoys good growth potential from a diverse customer mix and is also striving to improve the cost structure.

He added that the company aims at developing high quality, safety and comfort features at the TechCenter. Driven by innovation at the core of business the R&D teams work toward developing solutions capable of taking on the challenges of present and future together.
