We reported earlier that Fiat India will launch several new products including a facelifted Linea sedan in the country by early next year. Meanwhile, another development arising from the company's perspective is that the Italian manufacturer is believed to be working on an all-new Linea model, which could be expected by 2015 or 2016. According to media reports, the 2015 Linea will be developed at the company's Turkish manufacturing facility. This is the same production unit where the current generation is being assembled.
Launched internationally, the facelifted Linea will come to India by the early 2014. The vehicle has already been spotted several times during its test runs, indicating a near launch. The exact details of the 2015 Linea is yet to be known, but we expect it to retain the current model's dimensions. It will get new features and a new engine configuration. The new model is expected to be unveiled by the end of 2014 or by early 2015.
It is still unclear that what could be the possible platform to be used to develop the next generation Linea model. The current version is based on the Punto platform, however the next Punto will shift to the Panda platform. So, the next Linea could also use the Panda platform, which will surely give an exciting look to the model.
