Grand i10, Figo and Swift: Discounts, Prices and Differences explained

In the past seven months, Hyundai's brand new hatch Grand i10 has created a lot of buzz and at the same time proved to be a decent sales churner for the Korean manufacturer. With first four spots acquired by Maruti Suzuki cars (Alto, Swift, Swift Dzire, Wagon R) in the hatchback segment, the next big sales churner is none other than Hyundai Grand i10. From its launch on September 3 ,2013 to February 2014, the manufacturer has sold nearly 60,328 units. Grand i10 is receiving competition from its arch rivals like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, Honda Brio and others. Lets do a price oriented quick comparo on the three Grand i10, Figo and Swift.

Maruti Suzuki Swift is selling in large numbers and is marginally affected by the Hyundai Grand i10 but the Ford Figo, which is expected to receive second generation, is selling in slow numbers nowadays. The diesel base variant of the Figo starts at Rs 4.81 lakh while the top of the line diesel Titanium costs Rs 5.99 lakh which features all goodies like Bluetooth phone integration, BT audio streaming; speed sensitive audio unit, ABS + EBD, airbags and alloys along with others. The petrol Figo base variant starts at Rs 3.86 lakh while the top end petrol Titanium lands at Rs 5.06 lakh. The Grand i10 starts at Rs 4.28 lakh for the base Era petrol and top variant Asta (optional) petrol costs Rs 5.83 lakh. The cars features Bluetooth enabled audio unit with one gigabyte internal storage, rear AC vents, engine start-stop. The diesel Grand i10 Era starts at Rs 5.15 lakh while the Asta (optional) costs 6.32 lakh. The Swift, expected to receive facelift around the festive season, features fully automatic AC, Bluetooth enables music system with steering mounted controls, 15 inch alloys extra apart from the rest of features which are common in all the three cars.

Ford dealers are providing hefty discounts ranging between 30 to 40 thousand, depending upon which variant you opt and they are also providing lucrative discounts on the accessories. Hyundai is not offering any discounts on the Grand i i10 as already this is a new car and doing wonders for the manufacturer, you might get few free accessories. On the Swift, Maruti is offering decent discounts ranging in between 19,000 to 25,000 thousand. All the three cars are capable enough, the swift and Figo offers all around drivability with excellent city and highway capabilities while the grand i10 is good around the city with decent highway maneuvers.
