It’s no secret that the Marussia F1 team has been having a bad time both in the track and off it. Apart from scoring just two points since its launch 2010, the F1 team also suffered loss amounting to several million pounds. The team took to administrators over the financial crisis and the board has advised on a close down of business in break-up basis and the sale of the assets. And now reports are surfacing that the Haas F1 team, the newest entrant to F1 arena from US, has bought the Marussia F1 team’s headquarters in UK.
According to the reports, Haas F1 has also acquired other assets that may include data, designs of the new chassis that Marussia was working on and engines too. Though the company is yet to announce it officially, chances are slim that Marussia F1 will be able to return to F1 racing for the 2015 season.
Haas F1 Team will debut in the Formula 1 World Championship in 2016, where it will become the first American-led F1 team since 1986. The team is founded by Gene Haas, who already has a championship-winning NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team, Stewart-Haas Racing and the new F1 team will be based in the United States on the same Kannapolis, North Carolina campus.
