Soon after the launch of its premium hatchback Jazz, Honda expects it to expand the premium hatchback segment. This particular segment is ruled largely by Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai’s Elite i20. The premium hatch space in India carries a potential of 2 lakh units annually.

Honda Cars India Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales Mr Jnaneswar Sen said, "We are confident that the launch of Jazz will help the market of premium hatchback segment to further expand". Furthermore, he added  "It is a fast growing segment at the moment."

The Japanese manufacturer aims to meet the entire demand of Jazz. To do so, the company will adjust its production facilities located in Greater Noida in UP and Alwar in Rajasthan.

Mr Sen clarified, "Honda will see the response. A lot of people are coming to our outlets to have a glimpse of the model. For a model like Jazz, we want to fulfill the entire demand in the sense that once, in a couple of months, we know what is the pattern of the demand for this car, we would like to fulfill the entire demand."

It is known that Honda is currently using 95% part localization for Jazz which is way ahead of the outgone Jazz’s 72% that lasted production till 2013. This will also enable the manufacturer to achieve an expected turnover of Rs 1100 crore from exports alone in this fiscal as against the Rs 700 crore of last financial year.
