Honda has unveiled the Brio facelift -- spotted earlier in spy pictures -- in Indonesia. The changes to the Brio are reminiscent of the changes made to the Honda Amaze in India. The car gets a bigger bumper and the same interiors as the Amaze facelift.
Prices for the new Brio Satya S M/T in Indonesia start at IDR 129,600,000, which is roughly INR 6.5 lakhs. Honda has introduced an RS version of this Brio, which features side skirts, dual-tone 15-inch wheels and projector headlamps with light guides.
On the outside, the facelift features a new front grille which is bigger and extends all the way up to the headlamps. The headlight units remain the same but the reworked bumper makes way for a bigger air dam and angular fog lamp housings. This version looks a lot more aggressive than the ongoing model and is a much-needed makeover in the Brio’s life cycle. Other than this, the vehicle remains largely unchanged.
Inside, it gets a new dashboard set-up, similar to the Amaze facelift. It features a digital AC control panel placed under the left-aligned music system. The air-con vents are sleek and add character. This is a welcome change over the current interiors which are boring and dated. The RS variant further gets all-black interiors with orange contrast stitching. It also gets a 6.2-inch touchscreen unit in place of the standard 2-din JVC audio system.
This update retains the 1.2-litre engine which puts out 86.8bhp with 109Nm torque. This power is best when compared with the Swift and the Grand i10 which give out 83bhp and 82bhp, respectively. In Indonesia, the Brio comes with an option of CVT automatic transmission. This is the same unit that was introduced in the Amaze recently and is likely to be launched in India too with this facelift.
Here is a spec comparison of the Brio with the Swift and the Grand i10.
