Honda’s Jazz is all set to be launched on July 8th and will set a new benchmark in the premium hatchback segment. The segment is currently led by Elite i20, a champ in itself and churning great numbers for Hyundai making it the only capable opponent of Jazz. There is no denying that the latter is a great offering but here are 5 irresistible things about Jazz that will surely scare its competitors.

Do It All!

The all new Honda Jazz is a smartly thought out product and the folks at Honda have figured out something special for this vehicle. Something they call ‘Magic Seats’ and the whole concept to incorporate them is to allow the owner to flip and unflip them between different settings. These will let you fit in almost everything, from your cycle, groceries, good number of plant pots for your home and pretty much any reasonably sized object that your hatchback rejects to fit in because of few inches. Moreover, the recline feature allows you to use the front seat as a calf support for the rear passenger when the front seat is fully laid back and the headrest is removed. This being a first in class feature will be a star attraction of Jazz’s proposition.

Interior Oomph!

Since, Elite i20 is currently the lone ranger in the premium hatchback category we have to compare it to Jazz. And when it comes to the insides, someone as good as Elite looks a tad simpler compared to the stunning Jazz. Honda’s ‘H’ design philosophy makes up for the high quality and techs insides. The slightly angled dash coupled to the instrumentation console with three rings shows the driver-centric focus of the car. While the sleek A/C vents with the touch controlled central console will all make it an outstanding offering. Besides, Honda has taken enough measure to ensure that no one is left without options like there are two interior color options-one black and beige combo and an all black aimed at the enthusiasts.

Feline-Prance Stance!

Earlier, the designers of Jazz incorporated a prowling cat poise in the car’s side profile. The same design is taken as the stepping stone for the current one that incorporates Honda’s latest H-Design philosophy. Only this time around it takes the inspiration from a prancing cat. The high frontal roofline denotes the head while the sloping rear represents the moving lower back of the charging kitty. Also, widely mentioned Honda’s ‘H’ design actually emerged with the current generation of Jazz, aka Fit in many countries. Needless to say, this beautiful feline-prance stance encapsulates those aggressive headlamps, graceful shoulder creases and that dynamic rear that get LED taillamp cluster as handy.

27.30kmpl!

Isn’t that number awesome, because it is meant to be awesome. There is only Celerio’s diesel engine that gives better efficiency than this. By how much? A mere 0.32 kmpl. This is when Celerio’s two cylinder motor is short of around 700 cc of Jazz’s in-line four. We have to really give a pat on Honda's back for their awesome piece of engineering. They have sorted the 6-speed manual differently for the 1.5 litre i-DTEC motor that helps in developing this tremendous mileage figure. It still doesn’t compromise on power and torque that stand at 100 PS and 200 NM respectively.

Paddle Shifter!

You see, we just can’t forget that. The 1.2 litre i-VTEC sweetheart is now mated to a CVT automatic that has paddle shifter at your disposal. The multifunction steering wheel is a familiar one but is now vested with the shifters in the top trim. Not only it would be a first-in-class but also will act as a USP for Jazz.
