Honda Pavilion at Auto Expo

Honda Motors Pavilion in Hall No. 06 and stall no. 6.1 dazzled with some amazing launches and breathtaking displays. Apart from the stupendous Cars at the display, a factor that caught everyone's eye was Azimo (Advanced step in innovative mobility), a humanoid robot. The Robot delighted the audiences with its brilliance and entertaining performances like dancing on a bollywood number “All is Well”, playing with the football, making cute gestures towards the audience etc. Shining cars were displayed on rotating dais, with ravishing models posing with the same. Top-Honda officials were seen greeting those present there. A well-managed reception at the entrance of the pavilion helped all those gathered with information on various products of Honda Motors distributing brochures, pamphlets etc. The pavilion was chocked with enthusiastic crowd and energetic media.

Honda, sharing the same roof with Toyota, unveiled Trendy Jazz (Premium Hatchback), New Honda City, Honda Accord, Honda CRV upgraded (Premium SUV), Honda CRZ (Sports Car) and an small car model. Honda new small concept car model had a world premiere at the Auto Expo. Honda motors chose India as the venue for the premiere for the first time.

Azimo is the culmination of two decades of humanoid Robotics research by Honda Engineers. Azimo is able to recognize the face of some limited individuals and map the environment with its camera. Azimo is a working executive at Honda's office in Japan. The robot greets visitors and explain them the basic functionalities of the vehicles.

width=300Honda's new small concept car is a true Honda futuristic design with maximum cabin space. The car is a concept model of a new small-sized vehicle that seems to be especially designed keeping Indian consumers in mind. The big H will bring in its iteration of a small car concept that it hopes will target the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i10. The Honda small car will be powered by a new 1.0-litre petrol engine using VTEC technology, with the first production rolling out in late-2010/early-2011. Developed at Honda’s Automobile R&D Center in Japan, the Honda New Small Concept is designed to be a family car with a capacity to seat 5 adult passengers. Commenting on the unveiling of the New Honda Small Concept Mr. M. Takedagawa, President & CEO, Honda Siel Cars India Ltd. Said that India is a focus market for Honda and the World Premier of the New Small Concept at the Auto Expo is a testimony to this fact.

width=300Another big display at the Honda Pavilion was CR-Z (Compact Renaissance Zero), a hybrid sports coupe that uses the same powertrain as the Civic hybrid, but with a more powerful battery pack to yield combined horsepower of over 140 bhp. The design enthralled all those present there with its luxurious features and dazzling exteriors. The masterpiece provides a glimpse at Honda's first sporty hybrid coupe. The 2-seater coupe culminates futuristic design with expertise in Automobile industry.

width=300Honda CR-V is available in 2 variants, 2.4l engine and 2.0 l engine. 5-speed automatic transmission vehicle comes with Grade Logic Control, Vehicle Stability Assist, traction control, Anti-lock braking system (ABS), Daytime Running Lights (DRL), 60/40 split rear sliding fold & tumble rear seats, MP3/auxiliary input jack and Cruise control.

Honda City won the best mid-sized car in initial quality award for 2009. With the safety of passengers being their top-most priority, the new Honda City offers smart safety features. Equipped with 5-Speed automatic transmission, the car comes with a “paddle shift” option that allows the driver to shift to a manual transmission-like driving fuel. The new Honda City, a luxurious sedan has lot of advanced features to offer - new i-VTEC engine, new aerodynamic design, more grandeur, increased interior space, and of course, top-notch performance.

width=300Three models of Honda Jazz were displayed at the Expo including Jazz Sports, Jazz Music and Jazz gateway. Jazz sports had bright color combination that gave it a sporty feel. For the music lovers, Jazz music blends exteriors filled with notations, symbols and music related accessories. As quoted by Honda's officials Jazz gateway takes one to a rare experience to a place that one always wants to retreat to.

The existing product lineage of Honda Motors includes Honda jazz, Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, Honda Civic and Honda City, all leading their respective segments. Before the financial year of 2011-12 Honda Siel promises to launch its small segment car code-named 2CV built on the platform of Honda Jazz. Specifically designed for the Indian market, the car would be priced between 4-4.5 Lakhs.
