Hyundai maintains steady growth

Hyundai Motors India registered a steady growth in the Indian auto market by jumping at 2.4 per cent in January2011.

Hyundai Motors in India is be the second biggest automobile maker and the biggest passenger automobile exporter. Its accumulative sales were 43,316 car models for January this year over January 2010 sales of 52,628 car models exhibiting a decline by 17.7 per cent. The domestic sales witnessed sales of 30,306 car models over 29,601 car models in the month of January 2010. However the exports decreased by 43.5 per cent as last year in January it sold 23,027 car models but for this year in January it could only sell 13,010 car models.

Hyundai i10 the “Next Gen” is speeding its popularity by recording sales of 16,694 car models in the Indian auto market for January. The hatchback was also the best seller in the fiscal year in the domestic auto market. Hyundai India sales for January 2010 accounted to 30,306 over 29,601 car models landing on a percentage increase of merely 2.4.

Arvind Saxena, Director - Marketing and Sales, HMIL said that Hyundai has observed steady growth especially in the compact car segment. He also said that the auto industry will observe a slow paced growth.

In A2 segment Hyundai Motors that includes Hyundai Santro, Hyundai i10 and Hyundai i20, the Korean auto giant sold 39,343 car models, in the A3 segment that includes Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Verna it sold 3,957 car models and in the A5 segment 11 car models of Sonata Transform were sold and in the SUV segment as many as 5 car models of Hyundai were sold.

Hyundai Motors upgraded manufacturing unit near by Chennai which is equipped with advanced production, testing capabilities and quality in India. The second manufacturing unit of HMIL was established in February 2008 and can manufacture 300,000 car models yearly increasing its production capability to 600,000 car models yearly. Hyundai also owns a state of the art research and development facility in Hyderabad which is one of the pioneers in developing excellent auto mobiles.

Hyundai is fast expanding as it achieved the mark of exporting 10 lakh cars in the last decade. At present it sells its cars in 115 countries in markets such as Africa, Latin America, EU, Asia Pacific and Middle East. For the sixth year in a row it has been the number one exporter. HMIL has a strong dealership of 315 and also 641 string service point in India which is expected to stretch wide across in 2011.
