India made Ertiga to be shipped to Indonesia

The latest model being rolled out from the Maruti Suzuki clan is the MPV (multi purpose vehicle) Maruti Ertiga. The company is planning to make this latest car explore the South East Asian car markets.  Indonesia is expected to be the first South East Asian market for Maruti Ertiga where it will be exported through CKD (completely knocked down) kits. Maruti Suzuki has an assembly unit in Indonesia which will be assembling the Ertiga for the sale in local market. Just like the previous generation Swift, Maruti Ertiga will also be exported to Thailand from Indonesia’s assembly unit.

Maruti Ertiga which was revealed by Maruti Suzuki India at the 2012 Auto Expo held in New Delhi, will be its first diesel MPV. The Maruti Ertiga is a compact MPV that measures approximately 4.2 meters in length and is conceived on modified Ritz hatchback platform. Maruti Ertiga will be rolled out in 5-seater and 7-seater variants. In order to maximize luggage space, the second and third rows of both the variants will feature split seats. Indian car market will see both the variants; however, nothing is clear as to which variant will be launched in Indonesia.

Maruti Suzuki India is expected to roll out Ertiga on 11th of April this year in the Indian car market. The launch of Maruti Ertiga in the Indonesia market is expected to happen soon after that. The price of Ertiga MPV in Indian auto market is anticipated to be somewhere in the range of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 9 lakh. The 2012 Maruti Ertiga will be available in both petrol and diesel MPV. The diesel version will be powered with the 1.3-liter Fiat Multijet engine that has a variable geometry turbocharger. This engine is capable of providing a power of 90BHP and a torque of 200Nm. The petrol version will be housed with a 1.4-liter K-series engine producing a peak power of 94BHP and a peak torque of 130Nm.
