The small car fighter from Mahindra, S101, is spied again and the shots reveal its interior. The exteriors of the car are covered in camouflage, but the interiors are left uncovered exposing its major design elements. Though, it is believed to be a compact SUV, we would rather consider it as a hatchback carrying the company's latest design ideology of making cars look more like SUVs.
Coming to the images, the interior shots reveal the dashboard, paneling, seats, steering wheel, central console and pretty much everything. The dashboard appears to be a stylish and upmarket, composed of glossy trims, chrome bits, silver inserts and a plethora of control dials on the central console. The multifunction steering wheel looks contemporary over a swagy (apparently) instrumentation cluster. But the major highlight of the interior shot is the central console mounted gear stick, which is overshadowed by the glass reflection. This setup is enabling S101 to get a middle seat at the front, notice the one lying flat, probably could be used as a handrest when down. Moreover, the tall setup of the car will make ingress and egress easy.
The exterior aspects of the car are partly sneaking out of the camouflage. The front gets Mahindra’s signature grille, as seen on Scorpio and XUV500. Flanking the grille are apparently squared-off headlamps with focus lamps. Wheel arches are similar to that of TUV300 accommodating probably 14-inch wheels and tyres.
Mechanically, the car is reported to be based on a monocoque chassis and might get the 1.5-litre mHawk 80 motor as in the TUV300.
