Mahindra to ramp up XUV 500 production to meet surge in demand

Ever since the Mahindra XUV 500 was launched in India last October, within ten days, the auto major was literally forced to pause the bookings for a while. That short while got extended to months as the company was out of stock and could compete with the outrageous demand of 8000 bookings within matter of days after the launch. Not very long from now, Mahindra will start accepting the bookings  during January itself is what the many fingers point out to. And the auto major is aggressively working hard to ramp up the production of the SUV at its Chakan plant near Pune, not only to meet the expected surge in demand when the auto major opens the flood gates, but also to fall in lines with the company’s plans to carry out the exports to the Australian and European markets in 2013. Mahindra’s manufacturing unit presently produces 110 units of the Mahindra XUV 500 SUV which is expected to increase it by over 50% to 160 units a month.  The good news is that Mahindra XUV 500 has passed all the tests in flying colours and all ready to be bundled off to the European markets. There are lot many things happening with the Mahindra’s flagship SUV and the auto major is presently focused to meet the demands. Mahindra XUV 500 price is also going to ride up and the exports of the SUV to the international markets is also on the cards. So, right after the Auto Expo 2012, Mahindra has now diverted its attentions to the next important things that has to be taken care of.
