Honda India has finally unveiled the all-new Honda Jazz in India. The product already made its debut in several international markets. It is a step forward to extend company’s product lineup, as well as pitching the ‘Jazz brand’ identity well in India. Keeping this in mind, Honda has come up with all-new 3rd generation Jazz that is intended to bring about major changes in the premium hatchback segment. It bounds several new attributes like never before spacious interiors, next level of comfort and performance and a fun-to-drive model, is all ready to launch in India in the near future. Moreover, for the first time it is being offered with both petrol and diesel guises. Earlier, the absence of diesel firepower had been considered as one of the factor responsible for negative growth of Honda Jazz in the market. Adding on to this, the high prices of the car also affected the graph of this particular Honda model in the local market. So, this time around, the new Jazz is being symbolized as a complete package that bounds Honda’s several innovative technology concepts in it. Let’s make a brief differentiation between the obsolete model of Jazz and the newly arrived one.
Design:
With the new Jazz, the company has blended its two very popular philosophies- EXCITING H (design concept) and Man Maximum Machine Minimum. The former concept has been applied to create one such product which is high in terms of styling, and exhibits unique design structure that would lure the on-lookers. Specifically, in terms of design the new Jazz has been revolutionized from its predecessor and parks in some of very attractive design elements in it. The cab-forward design has been retained with the new Jazz. While, there’s all-together a new platform used that brings in newly made bonnet with two prominent strikes, thick horizontal chrome slat and an aggressive hawk-eye like headlamp structure. This futuristic looking model gets complete with the sewage line flowing across the sides of the car, while the rear seems to be inspired from CR-V SUV car model. The back bumpers showcases matte black vents on both side edges. The interiors this time are made in accordance to “Man Maximum Machine Minimum”, which has resulted into creating immense amount of space inside the car. In comparison to the earlier model, the new Jazz gets more wheelbase that ultimately contributes to excellent boot space of 400-litres, legroom and knee-room at both front and rear ends. To make it a premium hatch, Honda has added features like large dashboard, three-spoke steering wheel with music controls mounted over it, touch-screen system with navigation, and top notch quality material used to build up the cabin.
The common family look of Honda has again made its way with the new Jazz, which is also found with other Honda cars in the lineup. Every single element has been added keeping its functionality in mind, and thus has resulted into a very practically made car.
Engine:
Another major change has been with the engine specifications of the car. The old Jazz was just available with 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that has capacity to churn maximum power output of 89bhp. However, the lack of diesel powered model with Jazz has made many customers disappoint. So, considering the demand of oil burner, the new Jazz has been made available with both- 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC engines. Amongst these, the diesel powered engine offers 98bhp of top power.
