The first week of October was an important one for so many reasons, firstly because most automakers announced their monthly sales report that gave us a clear idea of who stands where, secondly various car makers including Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Audi, Renault and Toyota hiked their car prices to avoid the losses that they might bear due to rupee depreciation which ultimately increases their input costs. lastly, as October is considered to be the festive month in India, and all the players are ready with their festive season offerings, discounts and launches, so if everything is put together, October is no doubt a very special month in all perspective.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class Sport Editions Launched
Mercedes-Benz India launched the Sport Edition of its flagship sedans the C-Class and E-Class on October 4th at Rs 29.9 lakh and 39.9 lakh respectively (prices are ex-showroom, New Delhi). The sport editions carry the AMG sports package that has certainly helped them become more plush, sportier and ultra-modern.

Volvo that unveiled the all new Volvo V40 cross country at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, is now planning to launch the similar car in India as well by the second quarter of 2013. And having an expected price of Rs 23-27 lakh, it will be competing with the likes of Mercedes-Benz B-Class, BMW X1, Audi Q3 and some others.
