Nissan Appoints HAI as their Sole and Exclusive Distributor in India

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has further strengthened their four year partnership with Hover Automotive India Pvt. Ltd. by sealing the deal of being the sole and exclusive distribution agreement in India. Under this agreement NML (Nissan Motor Company Ltd.) will encash on the extensive knowledge that HAI (Hover Automotive India Pvt. Ltd.) has with regards to the Indian market and help Nissan build a stronger customer base and also help them with mid and long term product and business planning.
Commenting on the same, Toru Hasegawa, Nissan Corporate Vice President for Africa, the Middle East and India said that this deal will further strengthen the bond between HAI and Nissan. He further stated that this partnership with help Nissan to further localize their business. On the other hand, G M Singh, Vice Chairman & Managing Director for HAI said that this deal with help them build a strong relationship with Nissan and also that they together will serve to the needs of their customers in India better.
Under this agreement HAI will carry out sales and marketing along with customer relations, dealer development, public relations related to sales and marketing, training and after sale services as the exclusive distributor for Nissan Motors. HAI however, will continue to operate as an independent company with an exclusive distribution. With this deal, the already expanding dealer network for Nissan will reach to approximately 100 dealers by the end of this year, thereby increasing Nissan’s market share.
Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) will remain as Nissan’s overall business management company in India and continue to control the corporate and product planning along with total customer satisfaction, accessory parts development, vehicle and service parts logistics, finance, corporate communications, external affairs and export management.
Previously HAI has played a major role in the launch of the models that proved to be game changers for NMIPL, viz, Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny. Ever since the launch of the two models, the sales growth for Nissan India has been tremendous. In fact to match the demand of the products, Nissan India doubled the production capacity of the Oragadam Plant, which now is capable to roll out 4Lakh units per year.
