Paris Motor Show: A Preview

Most of us already knew about the world’s biggest and most popular auto show - Paris Motor Show, but what most of us didn't know that the Paris Motor Show, also known as Mondial de l'Automobile, is the world’s first auto show that commenced way back in 1898. Paris Motor Show has always been an important platform for the automakers to showcase their concept and production models. Lets have a look at the cars to be showcased at the 2014 Paris Motor Show starting from 2 October, 2014.
Ferrari 458 Speciale A
The Maranello based automaker Ferrari will bring the 458 Speciale A (A as in Aperta) at the auto show. Under the hood, the car gets V series engine which develops a torque of 540 Nm. Ferrari 458 Speciale A is capable of achieving the 100 kmph mark in just 3.0 seconds.
Audi's TT Sportback
The automaker has revealed the sketches of new Audi TT Sportback concept. The TT Sportback concept is 11 inches longer than the TT coupe, and is based on the flexible MQB platform. The concept is expected to come with turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Limited Edition Duster 'Air'
Renault's subsidiary brand Dacia has launched a limited edition of Duster compact SUV christened as 'Air'; and it will be displayed at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
Renault Espace
Espace from Renault is a large, elegant and innovative crossover, which combines a strong design. This is another practical utility vehicle from the French automaker Renault.
Audi TT and TTS Roadster
Audi has already unveiled the TT and TTS Roadster before their official debut at the forthcoming Paris Motor Show. The cars are based on Volkswagen Group’s flexible MQB platform and will carry EA888 turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S
The Japanese car manufacturer Mitsubishi will bring the all new plug-in hybrid concept christened as Outlander PHEV Concept-S. The concept embraces special design package for the regular Outlander PHEV, which made its first public appearance in 2012 Paris Auto Show.
Honda CRV Facelift
Honda readying CRV for a makeover, the facelift is set to debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. This 2015 refresh is mid-life facelift of CRV and is more of a stylistic update.
Peugeot Quartz Concept
Peugeot will unveil its Quartz Concept which gets a new vision for the crossover segment. This concept SUV features sportier design with innovative materials and powerful Hybrid engine. At the event, Peugeot will showcase 40 cars across the 4,000sqm stand in Hall One.
2015 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG
Though the German carmaker Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the 2015 C63 AMG but it will make its first public appearance in upcoming Paris Motor Show. Based on the new C Class, the 2015 C 63 AMG features a new 4.0 liter Bi-Turbo motor ditching the current naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8.
Volkswagen Polo GTI
Volkswagen like any other automaker has first revealed the 2015 Polo GTI online and further plans to showcase car at Mondial de l'Automobile 2014. This German hot hatch will go on sale in Europe soon after its public debut at the Show.
Mercedes-Benz V250 BlueTEC 4Matic
Another showcase from Three Pointed Star manufacturer is the V250 BlueTEC with 4Matic drive tech. The van is set to become the first V-Class with 4MATIC all-wheel drive. After the official unveiling, the MPV will go on sale from December, while the deliveries would start by early next year.
Lamborghini Teases its Upcoming Model
The Sant'Agata Bolognese based carmaker will unveil an entire new model at the event. The automaker teases very intriguing image of its upcoming brand new model and below it, the automaker writes 'Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it’.
Renault Eolab Concept
The French automaker will host the World Premier of Renault Espace’s successor as Eolab Concept. The Eolab is three door concept which carries Z.E. Hybrid powertrain that consists of a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, a 6.7 kWh battery and a clutch-less three-gear transmission with an integrated electric motor.
Honda Jazz Prototype
Honda will showcase the Jazz prototype which boasts new modern design with increased external dimension. The length is increased by 15mm while the wheelbase is extended by 30mm that in turn makes the cabin spacious.
Toyota C-HR Crossover Concept
The Japanese automaker has teased the image of its new compact crossover C-HR which will be unveiled at the Show. The crossover gets narrow headlamps with angular rear taillamp clusters. The car is also supposed to get a sloping roofline that gives sporty design which further spruces up with the roof mounted spoiler. At the event, the concept vehicle will be showcased at the centre stage of Toyota stand at Hall 4.
