Renault Drives to Success on Duster, Sold 8,232 units in March

Renault India is riding on the back of strong sales of its Duster SUV achieved an over eight-fold jump in sales in March this year at 8,232 units. The company had sold a total of 1,005 passenger vehicles during March 2012.

When most of the car-makers are thinking about the losses and low market sales, Renault India is partying on its huge successful season, again thanks to Duster SUV. In March 2013, the company has sold 6,313 units of its sports utility vehicle Duster, 1,026 units of Scala sedan, 541 units of Pulse hatchback, 337 units of premium sedan Fluence and 15 units of SUV Koleos.

Speaking to the media, Sumit Sawhney, Renault India Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) said “ Not only did we achieve overall record-breaking sales, but we also surpassed our benchmarks for the Duster, Fluence and Scala – yet another indication of Renault's increasing strength in the Indian automotive space as well as the continuing appeal and acceptability of our products among customers”. Renault India in joint venture with Nissan India has produced cars at the manufacturing unit situated in Oragadam, Chennai, with a capacity of developing 4 lakh units per annum.
