Most of the global auto company are trying to move in creating cars which consumes very less or no fuel, all there by leading to low levels of emissions. These companies are making their steps forward in creating fuel clear vehicles. Fuel emission regulations are nearly the same for both the diesel and CNG vehicles. These emission norms were been laid forward by Euro-IV, these norms are somewhat very similar to the norms of Bharat stage-IV norms. It has come to the noticenthat Bharat Stage-IV will come into force the next year, all according to the SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) president. He believes that the norms will come into existance till by the end of 2010 and will surely be helpful in bringing down the emission levels. He added that Indian norms are three to four years behind the EURO norms. He also believes that being behind will help in making them to get better experience in the field. Giving a example of after treatment devices he is proving his point. He says that after treatment devices will be made necessary in the Euro norms them being Euro II and Euro III. While on the other hand the Indians are without hurting the costs.
He says that nearly 80% of the pollution is caused the vehicles, and especially those which are older by 8 years. He feels it important to categorize them according to the ranges between buses, and other vehicles. At present three different studies of emission norms are going on in the market. One of these studies include Source appointment study which is been undertaken by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). This association is presently looking to the ways with which the company can reduce the pollution, and the solutions for the pollution. Other studies regarding the same has been done by TERI in Bangalore and Toyota in order to tudy the impacts of diesel on health and the final nad third study is been done on nano particles and CNG. Siam is also working on the prospects of reducing the emission in buses.
