Skoda, Toyota and Mahindra to hike car prices by January

Skoda, Toyota and Mahindra are reported to hike the car prices by January 2010. Thanks to increasing cost of raw materials. As a result, one need to pay more for new cars in India. It might be from Rs 10,000-20,000. Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM) has decided to increase car prices by two per cent from January 2010. The expected models of Toyota are Toyota Innova, Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Corolla. Skoda Auto will follow suit by hiking prices of Skoda Fabia to Skoda Superb. Apart from these two international car makers, Mahindra and Mahindra is to review the current situation and come to a decision before 15 December, 2009. In the list there is Honda Seil Cars which is thinking over to add financial burden on prospective customers. Hyundai Motor and Maruti Suzuki are also considering the same but will take their own time to decide. It is to be mentioned here that yet-to-launch Volkswagen Beetle, Volkswagen Polo and Volkswagen Touareg might be priced more than expected due to raw material cost and high import duty.
