Tata Bolt vs. Rivals Swift, Elite i20 and Punto Evo

Tata Bolt has been launched in India today with a starting price of Rs.4.44 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. This is Tata’s second product under the Horizonext strategy with a new design language after the Zest. Tata Bolt will be available with a first-in-segment 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. We take a look at how the Bolt is poised with its competition that includes Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Elite i20 and Fiat Punto Evo.
Tata Bolt has the most powerful petrol engine, thanks to the turbo power and it is also the cheapest in the petrol version. It comes with features such as multi drive mode, Harman touch screen infotainment system with video playback from SD card, aux and USB support, smart phone based navigation system, Bluetooth connectivity, voice recognition, in-built HVAC controls, and smart phone integration, ABS and dual front airbags.
Maruti Suzuki Swift, the leader of the segment, gets features such as reverse parking sensors, driver and passenger airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, 15-inch alloy wheels, push button engine start, electro-magnetic back-door opener, rear window defogger, rear wiper and washer, front seat belt shoulder adjuster, automatic air conditioner, outside temperature display, Bluetooth connectivity and steering mounted audio controls.
Hyundai Elite i20, the Indian Car of the Year 2015 recipient, has so far been posting great sales with close to 10,000 units every month. As with other Hyundai vehicles, the Elite i20 too gets a long list of features including ABS, dual front airbags, rear camera, automatic headlamps, keyless entry, 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth connectivity, automatic AC, electric ORVMs etc.
Fiat Punto Evo offers great looks and good driveablity along with a host of features. The Punto Evo is the cheapest in the diesel form and offers three different engine options. Other features include Blue&Me technology with voice command and Bluetooth connectivity, automatic AC, dual front airbags, height adjustable front seatbelts, auto down mode on all windows and more.
