Tata has taken some serious steps during past few years and this is reflected in its latest generation of cars. Taking the same philosophy forward, the carmaker is bringing Hexa SUV to the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. The Indian carmaker had already displayed it as a concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and if everything goes as per plan, the production version will be unveiled at the Indian automobile event.
The crossover is pegged to be the most feature-driven car in Tata’s lineup. The carmaker is likely to offer features like taillamps with LED position lamps, 6-seat configuration with captain seats, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting, window shades, ESP (electronic stability program), large alloy wheels, projector headlamps with auto function and 6 airbags.
Mechanically, Hexa will be powered by a 2.2L diesel mill capable of delivering a maximum power of 154 hp with 400 Nm torque. The engine is expected to come mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox while a 6-speed automatic gearbox is likely to be offered. Although, the automatic transmission will be an optional feature. To make the offering lucrative, Tata might also introduce a 4WD system in the car with a drive-mode selector.
Company is also expected to launch a hatchback in the mid of next month. Named as Zica, the car will be competing against the likes of Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 and is replacing Tata’s stalwart, Indica, which ruled the Indian roads for a long time.
