Tata Motors to increase its premium JLR range

Tata Motors has got plans to widen the product range of its premium Jaguar cars in the international market. The company is also mulling to increase the entry of its Land Rover, Range Rover in China and several other developing markets. Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Motors said that the present range of vehicles has seen restoration in demand and the challenge before the company is to deliver enough vehicles to meet market demand. 

Tata Motors is the biggest truck maker of India and it’s products include the model like Nano which is the world's cheapest car. In fact, Tata Motors had bought the Jaguar and Land Rover brands, the UK based models, from Ford in 2008 for the price of $2.3 billion. The sales of Jaguar Land Rover have been profitable over the last two quarters. In June, these sales increased about 60 percent to 57,153 units.

Tata had also said that a boost in sales is expected which will be about 20,000 Land Rovers and 5,000 Jaguars in 2010/11. The company had also said that it will begin assembling cars in the country. The company has got plans to launch a station wagon, an entry level Jaguar and a new roadster, said the Chairman. The work of a new Range Rover sport utility vehicle is also in progress. He also said that a new cross-over vehicle, two new passenger vehicles and a new range of heavy trucks will soon be launched in India.
