Tata Nano diesel seems to be a little far-fetch right now when the news is more focused on Tata Nano CNG for the moment. The Tata Nano CNG unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo along with Tata Pixel concept was definitely something to set our eyes upon and will be launched no later than end of 2012 is what Tata's MD PM Telang explains. No, we are not still stuck up with discussing the Tata Nano CNG version here, but to more to update on how big Tata Motors plans for the CNG variant of the small car. Tata Motors plans well ahead for Tata Nano CNG even before its launch where the auto major wishes to tap the markets of Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh and Indonesia for the exports of the small car.

Powered by a B-Fuel engine with the same capacity of 624 cc as we have always seen with the Tata Nano petrol, the small car is now being considered to take a flight to the Asian and European markets. However, there is going to be a lot more to happen between the  Tata Nano CNG launch in India and the exports, especially to the European markets. The car has to undergo a totally different engine specifications and tuning to suit the European car needs. The car has to be moulded to conform to the European emission standards which is at the moment more apt to meet the Bharat Stage IV emission norms.

While this is about the European market, there seems to be a debate where the Tata Nano CNG exports to the Thailand market as well. Tata Motors is still two ways about it- if it should locally develop the Tata  Nano CNG at their Thailand manufacturing unit or take the shortcut with exporting the Nano CNG version directly from its Indian plant. However, the company is not totally against the former option as it would help them in distributing the Tata nano CNG to the neighbouring countries like Myanmar efficiently.
