Volkswagen clocks in 5789 units in January 2012

The Volkswagen brand sold 5,789 vehicles in the month of January 2012 as compared to 5,601 vehicles sold in January 2011.The Volkswagen carlines have been showing a steady growth last year despite the market downturn. The Polo and the Vento sold 5402 units contributing to major percentage of sales while the Jetta and the Passat sold 387 units.

Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “The first month has shown a decent performance with sales even growing slightly as compared to the same period last year. We take this as a very positive sign and are confident to go forward during the year with growth in sales numbers.”
