Volkswagen has added a new model in its Brazilian portfolio, Volkswagen Fox BlueMotion; this miniature size yet extremely frugal model comes with a BlueMotion badge and is going to be a 2013 model. BlueMotion is a name tossed by Volkswagen group that draws attention to the fact that these vehicles are more frugal than their counterparts. Blue is the trademark color of the German group whereas the word Motion denotes mobility. Volkswagen Fox will be powered by a 1.6L four-cylinder, 8-valve engine that works on both gas and ethanol. The aerodynamic effect mated with the new grille and streamlined bumper gives the vehicle a fluidic look.
The small car, Fox BlueMotion comes with low rolling resistance tyres; earlier it was expected to come with automatic start/stop option but to keep the cost Volkswagen has not incorporated this feature. The sprint capability from 0-62 mph is 10.3 seconds with the ability to reach a maximum speed of 114 mph. The price of Volkswagen Fox is tagged at $19,521 for the three door variant whereas the five door variant price is tagged at $20,536. The small car is designed and manufactured by Volkswagen Brazil; Fox is based on VW’s PQ24 platform. The car was first launched in the year 2004 and at present is sold in South America and Europe. If you compare the older Fox, to the BlueMotion trim, the cost is on a higher side but so is the efficiency.
