The Volkswagen Taigun is all set to get a Trail Edition with prices to be announced tomorrow. It was showcased earlier this year as a concept and a new teaser reveals many of the cosmetic changes over the standard Taigun. The Taigun Trail is part of the compact SUV’s “GT Edge Collection”. Here are all the details of the Volkswagen Taigun Trail edition known so far.
Exterior Upgrades
Starting at the front, the Taigun Trail edition sports an all-black grille with a chrome strip on the top and bottom. In profile, you can see the 16-inch blacked-out alloy wheels, “Trail” badging under the ORVMs, body graphics on the rear door and C-pillar.
It also gets puddle lamps, a roof rack and a “Trail edition” badging at the back.
Anything New Inside?
The Volkswagen Taigun Trail edition will get a similar cabin as other special editions of the “GT Edge Collection”. It might get a different colour scheme on the inside with variant-specific lettering, but features and amenities will most likely remain the same.

Powertrain Details
The GT variant of the Volkswagen Taigun comes with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. This unit makes 150PS and 250Nm, and is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed DCT (dual clutch automatic transmission).
Price
The GT variant of the Volkswagen Taigun is priced at Rs 16.30 lakh (ex-showroom), and judging by the price of Taigun’s other special editions, the Trail Edition could carry a premium of over Rs 50,000.
