1966 Volkswagen Vanagon on World Road Trip, To Visit Volkswagen Chakan Plant too

A French couple who are out on a road trip across the globe in their 1966 Volkswagen Vanagon, paid a visit to the Volkswagen Pune Plant in Chakan. Mr. Seb Houisse (32) and Ms. Soiziclasne (30) have been travelling for the past 10 months visiting different countries, discovering new places and cultures. On a sabbatical from work for a year, Mr. Houisse and Ms. Soiziclasne started their journey last year in July 2012 and so far have visited around 15 countries including USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia, and Vietnam. The couple are having the best time of their lives on the road trip in the ‘Combi’, their 1966 Volkswagen Vanagon, shipping it only between continents.

The 47 year old vehicle (for now 8 years owned by Mr. Houisse) has been modified for the World Road Trip with a 1.8-litre engine (originally a 1.5-litre engine) and a gearbox from the Beetle, rest everything is original. The couple started their Indian journey from Chennai in April 2013. Covering places like Chennai, Gujarat, Jaipur, Agra, Himachal Pradesh to witness different cultures, they came to Pune to visit the Volkswagen Pune Plant in Chakan, the hometown of Volkswagen in India.
