Audi's version of Up! to launch in 2015- Report

We reported earlier that Audi is working on a new compact car based on the Volkswagen Up!. According to some media reports, Audi's version of the Up! will go on sale by the mid of 2015. The vehicle will get the "A0" moniker and will be based on the same platform that was used to develop Up!, Mii and Citigo trio.

The vehicle will get Audi's familiar styling cues including the trapezoidal front grille, LED lights and different alloys. Inside the cabin, it will get more upmarket plastics, leather trim and a new infotainment system.

Under the hood, Audi's version of the Up! is likely to get a 1.0-litre TSI engine that churns out a maximum power output of 100bhp. The Audi A0 will be priced higher than the Volkswagen Up!, and is expected to be priced around 13,700 EUR (approx- 11.6 lakh). It is also expected that the Audi A0 could also get an electric setup from the upcomong e-Up! and also a diesel electric hybrid structure from the XL1.
