On the occasion of its 95th anniversary, the British luxury car maker Bentley has unveiled 15 unique ‘Mulsanne 95’ models. These hand crafted models were build by Bentley’s Mulliner division in Crewe which uses special British-inspired materials and design. Sadly, the cars are reserved specifically for its customers in UK only.
Rich in its heritage, the luxury saloon features British-inspired colours and unique wood veneer. Mulsanne 95 is offered with the three bespoke exterior colours; Britannia Blue, Empire Red and Oxford White. The colours are specially created for these limited edition cars and are hand-finished in the Bentley's paint-shop. The classic red, white and blue colour are well balanced by the unique exterior design. The dark tint finish of the Flying B bonnet mascot and aggressive 21-inch five spoke alloy wheels adds more to its overall look. Inside the cabin, a perfect harmony can be seen between the contemporary features and the latest add-on of the technology. The elegant use of wood is done in accordance with the leather upholstery. An impressive LED scuff is also provided which features ‘NINETY FIVE’ and union flag. The front and rear seats are also embroidered with the '95' logo.
Even the wood used is no ordinary. The manufacturer uses a rare wood from a huge walnut tree which is estimated to 300 to 400 years old. The tree was fallen by the heavy storm of 2007, which was preserved and brought down to Fulbeck Hall in Lincolnshire. The Fulbeck Walnut veneer features signatory ‘ring of wood’ which gives a rippled effect throughout the cabin. The two leather upholstery in blue and white gets a red stitching which reminds the colours of country's flag.
Mechanically, the car remains untouched and will keep on housing its 6.8-litre, twin turbocharged V8 engine that generates a monstrous power of 505bhp and maximum torque of 1020Nm. The engine power its rear wheels through the eight-speed automatic transmission. Though the saloon comes under the luxury segment but can still achieve 100 kmph from standstill in just 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 296kmph. Only 15 of these limited edition Mulsanne 95 will be supplied. The cars are made available by the customer's order through Bentley’s network of 22 UK dealership outlets.
