CNBC-TV18 presents 'Overdrive Awards 2011’

India’s No. 1 business medium, CNBC-TV18, in association with, India’s most preferred financier of car loans, ICICI Bank Car Loans popular magazine Overdrive has announced the eleventh edition of the CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards. It is the most authoritative and comprehensive awards in the automotive sector. The awards target the use of green technology in automotive sector in order to channelise the increasing need of automobiles and and environment conservation.

Reduction of carbon foortprints in the vehicles is being implemented on automobile manufacturers looking at the importance of sustainability and environment conservation. CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards 2011 will consider the importance of green technology by bringing the automobile manufacturers together on a common platform and highlighting the road ahead for the Indian automobile sector.

Addressing the occasion, Mr. Anil Uniyal who is the CEO of CNBC-TV18 and CNBC AWAAZ commented that the company is delighted to announce these awards for 11th year and yet the journey has been nothing else but success. The  CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards are the benchmark in industry. He said that it is for those who aim customer satisfaction and environment conservation at the same time and the rare combination is worth the admiration and applaud. He said that the winners along with the nominees are the perfect example of technological advancement at global level.

Mr. Rajiv Sabharwal who is the Executive Director in ICICI Bank Ltd.also commented that the company has been an essential part of the automobile industry and has contributed a pivotal role in its growth and advancement. He said that the company has always been on its foot to support the environment friendly initiatives taken by various company with an aim to approach the customer satisfaction.

The categories of ‘CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards 2011’ include- Car of the year, Bike of the Year, Viewer’s Choice Award (2-wheelers), Viewer’s Choice Award (4-wheelers), Hall of Pride, Manufacturer of the year, SUV/UV of the Year, Motorsport award of the year, Green Award of the year, Storyboard auto commercial of the year, Premium Hatchback of the Year, Scooter of the year, Engine of the year, Import SUV of the year, Import Bike of the year, Import Car of the year, Performance Car of the year, Performance Bike of the year, Premium Automobile of the year, Mid-sized Car of the year and Compact Car of the year.

The CNBC-TV18 Overdrive Awards 2011 will also honor the Mumbai Traffic Police for commemorating their work and to keep Mumbai a safer place.
