Update: Renault Duster has been finally revealed at the Auto Expo 2016 in front of the large media gathering. The compact SUV needed an update for quite a long time and this was the only grand platform to show the potential of the car. The new Renault Duster will be challenging the popular Hyundai Creta in the segment besides gaining the lost market share that was stolen by Ford EcoSport. Check out the dazzling image gallery, new features and revealing of Duster facelift at the 2016 Auto Expo.
The Renault Duster facelift is “gearing up” to be introduced in the Indian market sometime during the first half of 2016. The updated compact SUV will be showcased in the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo, which be held in February next year. The car will feature both exterior and interior updates, which will include, a single slat grill design that will encase Renault’s diamond logo, redesigned alloy wheels, revamped bumper and a new headlight & tail-light cluster. The interior will also get a brand new instrument cluster, a new steering wheel and an optional MediaNAV touchscreen infotainment System, which will feature navigation and Bluetooth connectivity.
Under the hood, the facelifted Renault Duster will continue to feature the same 1.5-litre dCi diesel mill that finds its application in the 89bhp and 109bhp models. The petrol variant will also continue incorporating the 1.6-litre petrol powerplant that produces 102 bhp of power output and a peak torque of 148Nm. The most prominent mechanical upgrade to be featured in the Renault Duster Facelift will be the debut of company’s Automated Manual Transmission (AMT), which has been dubbed Easy-R AMT by the French automaker.
These upgrades are a courtesy of the escalating competition in the SUV and Compact SUV segments. With the launch of Mahindra XUV500 AT variant and Hyundai Creta, this transmission upgrade will help Duster stand its ground against its rivals. The Easy-R AMT will be a 5-speed unit, which might also make its way into Nissan’s Terrano. The Duster facelift will rival the likes of Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and Mahindra Scorpio.
