Ford EcoSport booking resumed for all variants

Ford India has resumed the booking of Ford EcoSport, now all the variants of the 'Urban SUV' as they call it are open for booking! The company closed the booking for several variants lately due to enormous demand. Recently, the American manufacturer increased the production of the Ecosport at their plant in Chennai to crater the domestic needs. The sub-4m package, blistering price tag, plethora of features and gadgetry on board, head turning design and array of safety features EcoSport has it all – these are the reasons lying behind the success. The baby Ford SUV also repeated the status of its sibling Figo of being – India's most awarded vehicle, yet again.

Vinay Piparsania, Executive Director of Marketing Sales and Service at Ford India, commented on the commencement of booking of all variants of Ecosport - “Ford India’s game changing SUV EcoSport is aimed squarely at delighting discerning customers in India by offering more than they expect. With 50,000 EcoSports delivered, we have significantly reduced the waiting period and are pleased to extend the opportunity to book the Ford EcoSport to more customers,”

The company recently introduced signature LED headlamps as an accessory for the EcoSport. The headlamps sports a strip-LED that runs along the lower profile of the unit. One can get the day-time-running-led headlamp at the dealership for any existing model or for the newly purchased car for nearly INR 14,000. The company also offers an array of sporty accessories that you can put on to your ride, namely, roof-rack, sleek silver roof-rails, narrow door visors, spare wheel cover with EcoSport embedded, front and rear faux silver bash guards, bug deflector, side running board and chrome inserts for the front grille.

The EcoSport starts at INR 621,973 ex-showroom capital region and comes with three engine options and two transmission options. The pinnacle of all the 1.0 liter EcoBoost churns out 123.28bhp of maximum power and peak torque of 170Nm between 1400-4500rpm; EcoBoost is matted to a five-speed manual box. The 1.5 liter TiVCT gathers 110.46bhp and 140Nm of max torque, this engine comes with two transmission options of 5-speed manual and dual clutch powershift AT. The 1.5 TDCI diesel musters 89.75bhp and a maximum torque of 204Nm. The diesel comes matted to a five speed manual transmission. The 1.0 liter EcoBoost returns a certified fuel efficiency figure of 18.88kmpl while the frugal diesel motor returns 22.67kmpl.
