Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 highlights electric vehicles and hybrids

Today is the day when the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 will start off for the general public. The show will permit all the major automotive makers to showcase their vehicles. It is being said that this time around major focus will be kept on hybrids, electric vehicles and other innovation centered vehicles, that support energy saving. At the 64th Frankfurt Motor Show over 900 exhibitors from more than 30 countries are expected to come. The preview days, which were 13th and 14th of September of the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 made it pretty clear that the main center of attention of this show will be kept on the hybrids and electric cars as the automotive makers believe that these kinds of vehicles could sooner or later take up the center stage.

The Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 comprise of some of the best and most excellent next gen cars, and this in turn has been successful in attracting the visitors. The Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 is said to have about 100 electric vehicles on the display, which are not only strong on the concept but are also pretty near to the production line. Major automotive manufacturers such as Toyota Motors, Renault, Mercedes, Citroen, Audi, Volkswagen, Seat etc all have their electric cars along with hybrids on display. Some of these look extravagant, some are small. The basic aim of their technology is to renew energy and re-gee active energy.

Between so many companies, BMW has some new concept, which is said to be completely ready within next few years. Audi here has come with a small and compact electric car, whereas Mercedes Benz has a wide variety of car models. At the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011, Volkswagen has also showcased its new small car, called UP, in numerous variants. Showcasing the car in electric version also shows that how flexible is the platform being used. A total of 6 different variants are being showcased of Volkswagen UP, which have been successful enough in attracting not only the media attention but also the visitors.
