Union government is coming with a relief package for crippling auto industry which is going down by slowing auto sales and rising costs of input materials.
According to reports the ministry of heavy industries and public enterprises in its long term project named ‘mission document (2006-2016)’ is planning to setup number of groups for this mission.
According to the statement that given by the ministry's secretary Surajeet Mitra on Wednesday after the inauguration of the Symposium on International Automotive Technology (SIAT) 2009, one group will be formed each for policy and financial aspect, infrastructure, resource development, Mitra further elaborated that the government will not change the objectives set in the Automobile Mission 2006-16 and any adjustments that will be needed will be made.
” We consider the present problem confronting the automotive sector as a short-term one and the remedies which these groups may come up with will also be short-term,” Mitra said.
According to this plan India’s turnover will rise from $35 billion to $145 billion, and will be providing employment to 25 million people by 2016.
Union minister for heavy industries and public enterprises Santosh Mohan Deb inaugurated the conference hosted by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) . After the conference Deb emphasized that Indian engineers are capable to participate in global pledge for making environment friendly and fuel efficient vehicles.
