Honda Foundation announces Young Engineers and Scientists Award for the fourth consecutive year in India

Honda Motor India Pvt. Limited (HMI) presented Young Engineers and Scientists’ (YES) awards to fourteen students form the top institute across the country. Students from Indian Institute of Technology participated in the competition and fourteen students emerged as the winner of the fourth Young Engineers and Scientists’ (YES) awards. The YES awards were established back in the year 2008 in order to encourage young engineers and scientists.

Dr. K. Kasturirangan, Member, Planning Commission, Government of India was invite as the chief guest at the event. He presented the awards to the young winners.Dr. Gagan Pratap, Director, National Institute of Science Communication & Information Resources, who is also the chief assessor this year were also present at the the event. Mr.Tatsuya Natsume, Director, Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India and Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Vice President, Marketing, Honda Siel Cars India also made their presence felt at the occasion.

The fourteen young students who received the awards are ;Amal Sahai  (IIT – Guwahati), Abhinandan Tripathi (IIT – Guwahati), Rishab Poddar (IIT – Kharagpur), Sandeep Samal (IIT – Kharagpur), Pranay Jain (IIT – Bombay), Palak Dalal (IIT – Bombay), Animesh Agrawal (IIT – Delhi), Nishita Agrawal (IIT – Delhi), Sanchit Pande (IIT – Madras), Siddharth Shekhar (IIT – Madras), Vibhor Gupta (IIT – Roorkee), Ankit Garg (IIT – Roorkee), Abhishek Kar (IIT – Kanpur), Puneet Singh (IIT – Kanpur)

Honda Foundation will grant financial aid to the fourteen winners as well as give an opportunity to further pursue their studies or training in Japan.All the fourteen student were presented a scholarship of US $ 3000 selected on the bases of their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA), technical papers, essays and finally their performance in the one-on-one interviews across all the seven IITS located in Delhi, Bombay, Rorkee, Madras, Kharagpur, Kanpur & Guwahati.
