India bound VW Up to be unveiled in August

The luxury car brand Volkswagen is engaged yet again with another impending launch of Volkswagen Up next year; however, this compact hatchback is scheduled to be unveiled in August, this year in the emerging car markets including India and China. This is to mark the introduction of the Volkswagen Up, as the German brand’s cheapest small car till date from the Volkswagen’s usual top-of-the-line product portfolio. The Volkswagen Up is planned to be launched in a ceremony held at the Paris Grand Palais at Champs-Elysees in Paris. The Volkswagen Up price is likely to be placed around Rs 3 - 5 lakhs, making it available within the reach of the Indian commoners.

Volkswagen, has enormous plans laid out for this compact hatchback, with an annual production targeting 240,000 vehicles by 2012.
