Jaguar Land Rover India, today confirms it reached wholesales of 2393 cars in 2012, compared to 1813 cars in 2011. The British marque’s sales grew by 32%.
JLR India had introduced only the new Range Rover this year. The next year will be more optimistic as more new products will be introduced. The 2.2-litre XF S, XJ Ultimate, the facelift version of the Freelander 2 and the new F-Type should be launched in the first half of the year. We could possibly see a few more launches from the Land Rover stable in the latter half of the year.
Commenting on Jaguar Land Rover India’s sales performance, Mr Rohit Suri, Vice President, Jaguar Land Rover India said: “Despite difficult economic circumstances and a general slowdown in the Indian car market, we have continued to grow our sales due to appealing and exciting products that distinguish us from other luxury car manufacturers. The coming year will see the introduction of further new and refreshed products and we are confident of increasing our share of the Indian luxury car market.”
In India, the Jaguar product range includes the XF, XFR, XKR, XKR-S and the XJ. For Land Rover, the product range includes the Freelander 2 (built in Pune), Discovery 4, Range Rover Evoque, Range Rover Sport and the all-new Range Rover.
