Jaguar XF Sportbrake Estate car was apparently spotted in India sometime back. Does this mean an estate car will make it to India. The answer is a big no. That’s not the right interpretation. Its just the Jaguar XF R variant that is going to be introduced in India, or rather likely to make it to India. As far as the engine specifications go, the Jaguar XF R will house a powerful 5.0L V8 engine under the hood. The gossips from here and there points out to a launch somewhere in December, however, totally unsure about the timelines as there is no official confirmation on this.

The estate cars have never been quite popular in India to be honest. Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW did bring the estate cars in India without any luck. An estate car is basically a weekend car with huge boot space to dump in all the luggage and you are on the go. This is not something that would appeal to Indians. The cost conscious Indian are more practical in approach. The utility factor comes first before luxury ruling out any future for estate cars in India. While on the other hand, the new Jaguar XF sedan launched in the earlier part of the this month is not a major makeover. Slight cosmetic changes in the exteriors are the only few to mark a difference. The interiors will carry the same comfort levels as ever before and no variation in the engine department as well. Ruling out any possibility of a further toned down engine of 2.2 L, the sedan has 3.0 L V6 engine to churn out 275 PS peak power and 600 Nm peak torque. The Jaguar has surprised many launching the XF sedan at a price of Rs 48.37 lakhs.
