Now in its fifth generation, the Grand Cherokee looks sleek and sharp, especially with the design of the lighting elements front and rear. Jeep has confirmed that the India-spec model will have the complete suite of ADAS functions, including lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, front collision avoidance aid, and emergency braking. Following the Volvo XC90, Jeep’s flagship SUV will be the only other offering in its segment to have such features.
Aside from the switch from left-hand drive to right-hand drive, the India-spec Grand Cherokee’s luxurious cabin will likely be the same as the USA-spec model. It includes a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, an optional infotainment screen for the co-driver, a digital driver's display, a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system, a head-up display, and a wireless phone charger.
Jeep had previously announced that the India-spec Grand Cherokee will be powered by a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine mated to an eight-speed automated transmission, sending power to all four wheels. It will also receive Jeep's Selec-Terrain management technology to handle various road conditions. Meanwhile, the USA-spec model gets the choice of a V6 engine and a new 2-litre turbo-hybrid 4xe powertrain.
