Kia Motors is a sister concern of Hyundai Motors, who is looking for making its entry in the Indian car market. Kia Picanto has being spotted on the Indian roads quite often lately, which is giving a green signal that it would come to India sooner to later.
The new Kia Picanto, which was showcased at the 2011 Geneva Motor show, was caught on the roads of Chennai recently. The Kia Picanto is graceful and mature on the outside and comes with high quality interiors, which are loaded with ample of features. The major highlight of the exteriors here is the muscular and bold wheel arches that are adorned by alloy wheels. However, there is no news whether Kia Picanto is India bound or not. But if rumors are to be believed, Kia could foray in the Indian auto market with Picanto.
The question here arises, whether this car will be launched in India with a Hyundai Badge? Well, nothing could be said at this point of time as there is no position for Picanto to fit-in the currently portfolio of Hyundai. And the next generation Hyundai i10, which is codenamed BA, is not related to Kia Picanto in any way. Therefore, it looks like Kia Motors could make its debut all by itself in India with Kia Picanto. Globally, this sedan is being sold with 1 and 1.2 litre engine, which gives out 85 PS of power outputs. The engine is smartly coupled up with 5 speed manual transmission along with an option of 4 speed automatic gearbox, which enhances the driving experience considerably. However, if it is launched in the country, the car might get 1.2 litre of Kappa2 engine from Hyundai i10, which sounds apt and efficient.
